You see armed soldiers in the streets of Paris every day. There are two possibilities.

1. In this case, there was a military commemoration, and so the presence of the army was needed. There is a ceremony in homage of dead soldiers about every other day in Paris.

2. They are part of the new defence plan, which aims to fight against terrorism (and by extension anti-Semitism) which has been quite a place in France in the past 10 years. I'm not going to make you the list of terrorist attack that we've had to go through, but it's way too much. So the army is around now.

In this photo, which made me close down my aperture (rare enough to mention it), I like the contrast between the war and the love. Cheesy....

Thank you @Steven . Yes indeed. I had similar interpretation of the photo as I saw it. Contrast of love and hate, war/peace,... Really nice. You shall close down your apperture more in the future 👍 Great!

As per soldiers: sometimes I have to remind myself how privileged I'm to live in a country without terrorism.

Looks like this has become the new image thread for this lens, even though we had a dedicated thread for that.

So here are some more pictures. All taken with M10 and 35mm Summilux pre-asph v2:

I'm without this lens for a few weeks as the focus tab broke off my Titan whilst in a pouch in my bag  :D

Here's an image from latest roll, @ F8 with 35:1.4 v2 , Tri-X & Medium Yellow Filter.  It accompanies another posted here:

lovely glow. Recent acquisition ? Can you share which batch (first three numbers of serial)?

Thank you Steven, it`s 229xxx. As you know, I`ve already tried several 35 pre asphericals. This one I loved so much, that I couldn`t resist. It`s really sharp wide open and offers a lovely glow as well.

Grahamc: What a truly stunning (!) photograph, thank you for sharing it with all of us. If it were mine (wish it was) I would enlarge it into a very big print as it deserves to be on a primary wall taking up a good part of that wall. Simply beautiful.

PS. I own the same lens as you, late German in titanium finish and adore it.
