Well I joined the pack as well. Got an absolutely mint late Canadian version II, serial #33952XX. This one has never been opened. Focus is very stiff, all screw heads are flawless etc. Glass is super clear. I did some sunrise shots yesterday that would have been unusable had I shot them with a v5 50 Summicron or 75 Summicron APO, so I would rate mine pretty flare free! Other aspects seem in line with what I'm reading here.

@JMF, have you had the chance to compare the 35mm Summilux pre asph v2 with the 35mm Summilux “Steel Rim” re-issue? Would love to hear your insights.
