FlashGordonPhotography Posted August 22, 2018 Share #4 Posted August 22, 2018 Transitioned from Elinchrom to Godox. Both work flawlessly with the SL. Gordon
hhn360 Posted August 22, 2018 Share #5 Posted August 22, 2018 In the studio, I use the Profoto D1/D2 and away from the studio the B1/B1X, triggered by the Air Remote. I wish Profoto supported Leica with HSS.
AndreaP75 Posted August 23, 2018 Share #6 Posted August 23, 2018 (edited) I’m using a set-up of Priolite MBX500 Hotsync Ultra with their dedicated Leica trigger, which gives full HSS support with the SL (and M). Long lasting battery packs, consistent output. Build quality is top notch. HSS works flawlessly up to 1/2500 sec, above that you will see a minor shade about 3% of the frame which cannot be fixed in post. I can leave with that and compensate when framing. I got a “summer deal” directly from the manufacturer, who is very responsive for after sales and advices. m9photo Posted August 23, 2018 Author Share #7 Posted August 23, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Elinchrom skyport transmitter and ELB 400 together with two speed heads. I have Elinchrom ELB 400 as well, which head do you have? action/pro or HS? I currently use them on my 5DS R with the HS head. Does SL have the ability of Hi Sync up to 1/8000th? Joeri Posted August 24, 2018 Share #8 Posted August 24, 2018 Broncolor Siros system. Amazing stuff: portable, no power socket needed and very consistent flash (colour, duration). The standard transmitter works flawlessly. Just wish tethering the SL would work better. The SL is a dream camera in the studio. I shoot most (corporate) headshots with a Nocti (not wide open though) and focusing is easy and reliable.
Irakly Shanidze Posted August 27, 2018 Share #9 Posted August 27, 2018 (edited) For studio work I mostly use S006 and sometimes SL. I would use it more often if I had primes and one of them was macro. That being said, SL works great. Standard Pocket Wizard Multimax transceivers, Broncolor Minicom and Minipuls flashes. The beauty of using SL is that flashes can be dialed down, as SL's ISO1600 is smooth enough for print work. Low flash output allows for all kinds of things with mixed lighting with no need for long shutter speeds. jankojanko Posted September 5, 2018 Share #10 Posted September 5, 2018 I'm using Profoto D1's and B2's with AirRemote transmitter. Working very well for me.
Ruz Posted September 5, 2018 Share #11 Posted September 5, 2018 They're great, I'm using D2s, A1s and Air Remote, works well. Just that I hate the tethering that stops halfway almost EVERYTIME!
