leica dream Posted August 3, 2018 Share #8 Posted August 3, 2018 (edited) Wonderful outcome. For many years I have supported ORBIS (www.orbis.org) which has a flying eye hospital which goes around third world countries correcting preventable blindness. In fact, that aeroplane was in the UK last year and I was invited to a guided tour - quite extraordinary. Even a 3D camera as part of the surgeon's spectacles to transmit live images of operations to a 40 seat lecture theatre on the plane for training local doctors to take over the good work when the plane moves on. leica dream Posted August 4, 2018 Share #9 Posted August 4, 2018 I should have mentioned firstly that the aeroplane image is not mine but a publicity image from Orbis, and secondly that the medical volunteers who operate the service find not knowing language is not a problem when they see just the smiles of those whom they help which say everything....just like on this thread.
