Does anyone have experience buying from Jo?  He has a website and a brick and mortar store in Vienna.  He also sells on eBay with positive feedback.  He has a lens I'm interested in.  By looking at some other posts, he apparently worked for Leica Shop in Vienna and had something to do with a popular auction house or event.  

 

My main question is, is his rating system fair and accurate?  Any other input is appreciated.

Coincidently I wrote to him today, asking about a 50mm Summicron, as we are visiting Vienna in a month or so.

 

It will be night becoming early morning so I am expecting a reply soon. 

 

However I found what I want locally.

 

Either way I will visit him and say hello.

I met Jo at the big event at Leitz Park Wetzlar a few weeks ago. Got to spend some time in his company. Very nice, understated guy. Very knowledgeable about Leica. I have not done business with Jo, but he was held in high esteem in the company we were in, which says a lot to me.

Bought a Hasselblad/Zeiss 110mm f2.0 lens from Jo recently. Near mint condition. Realistic price. Fast process. Couldn‘t be happier.

I did two or three purchases over the last three years via ebay. All lenses most likely never used and fast delivery to Germany.

I bought a 'mint boxed' 11 822 Noctilux from him recently, via his eBay shop. Not something I'd usually do (eBay purchase of something of this value, I mean).

 

As described. Faultless lens, faultless service.  Superb.

I have bought several very rare pieces from Jo.  He also e-mails me occasionally about recent finds that may be of interest to me.  Jo is one of the very best in the collector camera business.  His communications are unequalled.
