Advertisement Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 Hi tobey bilek, Take a look here Sun damage. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted June 16, 2018 Share #2  Posted June 16, 2018 Not true for normal use. I suppose you could get the sun to damage just about anything if you put your mind to it, but a sensor is far less fragile for heat damage than film and certainly even less so than a cloth shutter. If you are going to take specific photographs of the sun, like of sunspots, then you will have to use special filters.  TAP is a bit controversial, to say the least:  http://www.engdahlphotography.com/blog/2016/1/27/the-angry-photographer  And from a more doubtful source, but still...:  http://www.chuckjines.com/the-angry-photographer-busted-claiming-other-peoples-work/
Bill W Posted June 16, 2018 Share #3  Posted June 16, 2018 TAP did a You Tube video trashing the Hasselblad X1D as a POS simply because the price was lowered. I believe he had used one for about 30 minutes to make his evaluation. He also has video's where he debunks relativity and quantum mechanics but I have not watched them.
