For them, a flat tire can be very costly. I probably could not afford one of their rims much less a tire.

I'm not sure if the teams have to buy the tires or if they are supplied by Firestone as part of their sponsorship of the race. I'll ask someone from Firestone tomorrow.

He barely "nipped" the wall in real time but made a mess of the right front. While they might get their tires free, I could still not afford one. Wonder if they were able to fix his car after that crash. Thanks for the the link Allan.
