Csacwp Posted April 12, 2018 Share #1 Posted April 12, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) This might be user error, but I wanted to check. I just got my M10 back from Leica NJ and the ISO dial seems to be completely disconnected. It will not change the ISO setting when I turn it. Isn't it supposed to override what you set in the camera menu (m-iso)?
Advertisement Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 Hi Csacwp, Take a look here ISO Dial Not Working. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
RonM Posted April 12, 2018 Share #2 Posted April 12, 2018 (edited) Don't you have to choose whether the ISO is done by the dial or by the buttons? (P. 156 in the downloaded manual) Edited April 12, 2018 by RonM
mr_big Posted April 13, 2018 Share #3 Posted April 13, 2018 If this is what your M10 is experiencing, a trip back to Leica NJ is in order. https://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/271966-m10-stuck-on-iso-400/

Csacwp Posted April 13, 2018 Author Share #5 Posted April 13, 2018 The Iso isn’t stuck- I can still change it in the menu. The dial just does absolutely nothing.
M11 for me Posted April 13, 2018 Share #6 Posted April 13, 2018 The Iso isn’t stuck- I can still change it in the menu. The dial just does absolutely nothing. You should have it serviced as described above. I do not see what can be discussed here. Its a case for the Leica technicians. Or am I wrong? What really is your expectation? Do I misunderstand? Csacwp Posted April 13, 2018 Author Share #7 Posted April 13, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm asking because in all the other circumstances of the iso dial breaking, it seems that the iso gets stuck. On mine it isn't- I can still change it in the menu. I also want to make sure that I'm not missing something here and that it really is broken. I don't think I'm missing anything...

Special editions command a premium in the second hand market.
Csacwp Posted April 13, 2018 Author Share #9 Posted April 13, 2018 Sounds like a special edition. Special editions command a premium in the second hand market. I had to laugh at this. I'll sell it as a rare prototype with a dummy ISO dial! In all seriousness though, I just shot some more photos with it and the ISO dial is working now. Maybe it is a faulty connection that only works intermittently? I wouldn't care if there was a way to adjust the ISO more quickly in the menu, like on the M9 and M240. If you have the ISO setting in your "Favorites" menu, then one push of the 'Menu' button, brings you to the setting. This might possibly be just about as fast as unlocking, turning, and locking the ISO dial. Granted, this is a compromise, but it does take the ISO dial out of the picture if you feel it is not reliable. Edited April 14, 2018 by RonM
Chaemono Posted April 14, 2018 Share #12 Posted April 14, 2018 The ISO dial is very reliable unless it’s broken. In that case a discussion thread needs to be started.

Do you say that whenever somthing is broken then it has to be discussed here? I wonder then if I should open a new thread as I found a small little ditch on the top edge in front of my M10 . . . Chaemono Posted April 14, 2018 Share #14 Posted April 14, 2018 Yes, why bother Leica Service & Support with repairs when one can share how unreliable the ISO dial is with a whole user community.
