microview Posted March 25, 2018 Share #1 Â Posted March 25, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) With non-coded lenses imported into LR it seems not possible to overwrite the lens name, and this can confuse if you have been swapping lenses and you refer back to LR days/weeks afterwards and wonder which lens was in use for given image. Simple solution is to go into Mac/PC and for the day's shooting (and with lens sequence fresh in mind) simply add suffix to file number, eg LZB = Zeiss 35 Biogon; LVM = Voigtlander, etc. LR will then say imported originals are missing/offline so you need reimport folder and delete duplicate files. Yes you can keep a notebook and pencil but this online method works perfectly for me. Â PS: Does Lightroom allow you to overwrite lens selection? Ecar Posted March 25, 2018 Share #2 Â Posted March 25, 2018 I have been using the LensTagger plug-in for years. Just google it. Very useful and well worth a donation IMO.

Boojay Posted March 25, 2018 Share #4 Â Posted March 25, 2018 I find it annoying too, and really must look at this Lens Tagger. Â Up to now I have always just tried to tag my images from uncoded lens on import (if I remember), but that's a far from perfect solution.
Dougg Posted March 26, 2018 Share #5 Â Posted March 26, 2018 I've been using Marc Rochkind's EXIFChanger app, works very well for EXIF info other than lens ID too... *before* getting into LR.
