stuny Posted July 5, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted July 5, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) A short drive from Mdina on Malta (Actually, everything is a relatively short drive on the compact islands of Malta) are cliffs overlooking the sea. We went here late afternoon in May. You can see more of this section of Malta on the 3rd and 4th Malta photo galleries on our site.

Dirk Van der Herten Posted July 5, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted July 5, 2007 One can hardly imagine a deeper blue in a landscape than you've caught in this photo, Stuart. Beautiful.
martinop Posted July 5, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted July 5, 2007 Like the impact of the "blue color tones".

azzo Posted July 5, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted July 5, 2007 Excellent colours, detail and framing. This is a nice and quiet location. Lovely in summer and in winter. Very well seen and captured, Stuart. Â Azzo
johnwolf Posted July 5, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted July 5, 2007 Just beautiful, Stuart. The blue is striking, but the subtle shades of the foreground are also amazing. Â John

stuny Posted July 5, 2007 Author Share #8 Â Posted July 5, 2007 Dirk, Paul, Michael, Ivan, John & Hans - Â Thank you. When we got back to the hotel and I showed Barbara this shot on the small camera screen she was disappointed that I didn't include the small island in the photo. Once we got home and she could see it better, she liked the image.

cocker Posted July 6, 2007 Share #12 Â Posted July 6, 2007 I can only endorse what everyone has already said Stuart. really captures the atmosphere of a beautiful location. Hard to believe that the small island (Filfla) was used for bomb aiming practice until the early 1970's! I remember my father who was in the RAF during WWII saying that they regularly used to bomb it as from the air it looks like an aircraft carrier. stuny Posted July 6, 2007 Author Share #13 Â Posted July 6, 2007 Pete, Chuck & Keith - Thank you. Â Manfred - Thank you. I was wondering if anyone would comment on the foreground and midground, especially since the blues are so intoxicating. right after taking this photo a herd of goats and the goatherd came by on the road, amused that we had stopped to take the photo.
