Hi folks,

Just wondering what is the full list of booklets/paperwork that come with the modern Summilux ASPH 50mm?

Is it:-

-Instructions manual

-Warranty Card

-Test Certificate

And how do they affect resale value should they NOT be present?

/e just to add a little bit of context - I am trying to buy a pre-owned example, and some seem to have Warranty Card and/or Test Certificate missing.

Yes, I think that's the extent of the paperwork. I don't think the presence of the paperwork affects resale value unless you are selling as mint or near-mint and trying to squeeze the maximum sale price (I assume you are the seller). It's one of those factors that comes into play when all other considerations (condition, price, etc.) are equal. I'd say the paperwork comes second to the box but does IMO provide a certain amount of reassurance to the buyer that the item is of sound provenance (i.e. not stolen) and that the seller is of a "careful" disposition. :)

You should be able to find a boxed lens quite easily, which should have all the paperwork, leather case, both lens caps and moulded packaging.

I know. It's just that I've found one without the warranty card for a fairly good price but idk without it, it'd be easy to resell

Correct. However, if the receipt cannot be produced, Leica (Wetzlar) has been known go as far as to look up and accept the day of shipping from the factory.

Thank you Sir. So, it seems to me that the warranty card is really not that much of an issue?
