Kim Dahl Posted March 12, 2018 Share #1 Posted March 12, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Have you tried the difference between these lenses? Image quality (microcontrast/resolution mm) between: 1. Leica SL 75 f2 / Leica M APO 75 f2 and 2. Leica SL 90 f2 / Leica M 75 APO f2. and what about 3. TL 60 APS. But thinking CL / SL because I would like to use my M optics the best.
Advertisement Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 Hi Kim Dahl, Take a look here Leica SL70/90 or M APO 70/90 og TL60. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ropo54 Posted March 12, 2018 Share #2 Posted March 12, 2018 (edited) Kim, I cannot answer your question directly, but can vouch for the SL 50 1.4 on my CL/T. Absolutely superb! To my eyes, the SL lenses clearly perform better than the TL lenses, notwithstanding how nice the TL lenses do perform. I have also used the M lenses - 35 1.4 FLE and the Noctilux on the CL/T and they are excellent, again, maybe even nicer than the TL lenses. Kim Dahl Posted March 12, 2018 Author Share #3 Posted March 12, 2018 (edited) Hi Rob. Thanks for reply. I know you are happy with your SL50 and also the TL60. I'm about to figure out where to go. It is not practical to have both Leica M-D / TL / ME and Leica SL Edited March 12, 2018 by Kim Dahl
Kim Dahl Posted March 12, 2018 Author Share #4 Posted March 12, 2018 (edited) I do not like big and heavy camera. I work everyday with the Nikon D5 mm so in my spare time it must be light and small. I also use M optics (24/35/50/90) on my Leica TL2. I can see Torsten Overgaard publishing an article about noctilux on APSC the 15/3 Edited March 12, 2018 by Kim Dahl
ropo54 Posted March 12, 2018 Share #5 Posted March 12, 2018 Hi Rob. Thanks for reply. I know you are happy with your SL50 and also the TL60. I'm about to figure out where to go. It is not practical to have both Leica M-D / TL / ME and Leica SL I have mastered the "impractical" with indecision! (Trying to sort this out at the moment, but, I find the SL lenses complicate the issues - weight vs. quality. Does my "ocd" side control me!)

FlashGordonPhotography Posted March 12, 2018 Share #7 Posted March 12, 2018 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I have the 90APO M and SL plus the 60 on the CL. I'll preface this by saying all are very very good optically.... If super thin DoF isn't a concern then the 60 is more versatile (macro) and is a lightweight compact option with spectacular optics. Personally I think the 90SL is *special* though. It draws beautifully. And it can be used on the CL (135mm equiv.), where it balances really well. It's a tough choice but I would get the 90SL. However for most I'd go the CL and 60 plus maybe add the 90 later on for a mid tele. Gordon Edited March 12, 2018 by FlashGordonPhotography
IkarusJohn Posted March 13, 2018 Share #8 Posted March 13, 2018 To be honest, the only non-TL lens I use on my TL2 is the 28 Summaron-M. It provides a compact, lightweight camera I can shove down the back of my cycling jersey and it gives an effective field of view of 42mm. The rest of the time, I use the 11-23 TL zoom and 35 Summilux-TL on the TL2. If you’re looking for image quality, I’d go with one of the SL lenses on the SL. I like the 75 field of view, so that would be my choice. The SL lenses are unsurpassed, in my view.

To contrast the D5, I'd say go with the much lighter CL and TL lenses. I don't own the CL but the TL lenses are lovely on the SL. If you don't want to crop your M lenses, the SL is the better choice.
