In both photos in the Lightroom I set: Exposure +3,00 EV (equivalent to ISO 5000), Noise reduction (Luminance 20, Color 40), Sharpening 0. After 9 years Leica M9 still takes good photos, and now even better, especially if we take into account the development of Lightroom. Leica M10 Welcome, dear visitor! He was not demonstrating that; OP stated that the M9 is still very good with the newer LR. That is a very clear and logically legitimate statement where nobody needs to be doubtfull about. pgk Posted January 31, 2018 Share #9 Posted January 31, 2018 Reinterpretation of old RAW files using the latest software is often a revelation. I often go back to photos taken on S2Pros and D2Xs and am often pleasantly surprised as to how much better the output files can look compared with those produced at the time.

albertknappmd Posted January 31, 2018 Share #11 Posted January 31, 2018 While LR has certainly improved noise reduction wise, the greater improvement is in the M10 sensor... Albert
Keith_W Posted February 1, 2018 Share #12 Posted February 1, 2018 Not sure why you think it is a "crazy" comparison. It looks pretty sane to me I don't think I would be very happy if there was that much noise at ISO 640, even with the EV boost to 5000 equiv. The M10 looks so much cleaner. jaapv Posted February 1, 2018 Share #13 Posted February 1, 2018 Noise has never really been an issue really on well exposed shots with sufficient light.

paulsydaus Posted February 23, 2018 Share #15 Posted February 23, 2018 Not sure what you are trying to demonstrate here. The M10 image looks much better. As it should. Except the M9 almost looks sharper despite lower resolution, an often reported trait of ccd... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
