I don't trust AF for any of those (with manual ly set aperture and shutter speed)

Did you check ISO setting as well. If you lock everything manually, all 5 lenses minus 100cron tested were able to focus correctly either WO or stop down shooting. You have to select S not M for back button focus. (even in focus M mode, Fuji allow you using back button focus but during my limited test case, S mode works way more repeatable and reliable than M mode)

For 180mm, is it show f2.5 or f3.5 on widest setting?

I havn't the GFX in front of me now, but I will check in a few days time and report back.

However, after looking at the Lightroom archive, I see that I was too soon up with the green ok-flag:

Several of the lenses are listed as taken with S180. So the focal length is not always correctly transferred to the GFX. Perhaps this is a problem with the contacts between the body and adapter, or the adapter and the lens, or with my procedure for changing lenses: Firstly turn the body off, then changing the lenses with the adapter connected to the body, then turning the body on. The lenses then run the usual forth-back focus confirmation loop (or whatever). But the focal lengths may not be correctly transferred. Not so good, since this impacts IBIS. Should I perhaps detach the adapter from the body when changing lenses?

I am on Kipon FW1.2.

More in a few days time...

Quickly tested FW1.3 (on my 100S). Definite improvements. My camera didn't freeze up at all! Sharpness is there. Maybe one more firmware update will iron out all of the kinks?

I'm now happy to list my second adapter so if anyone's interested I'll list it in the Classified section within the next couple of days. I'll update it to FW1.3 before I ship it. £775/USD$995 via Paypal (friends & family or buyer pays any Paypal fees). Shipping & taxes paid by the purchaser.

Using my 30-90mm the focal lengths are reported accurately.

I think the AF is equal to the S006.  Lousy by modern standards but we got by in the past.

The software isn’t as good as Fringer’s firmware when pairing EF glass to GFX, but for reverse engineering the Leica S protocol, it’s pretty impressive.

The main killer-app is video.  The Thalia lenses aren’t going to be that different from the Leica S lenses in the grand scheme of things and you’re also not using these lenses for fast run and gun action.

Here are some updates I posted in FB group.

Reinstalled the firmware, both 120 and 180 was accepted as 100mm f2. I can control the aperture but IBIS will be not as useful.

Another interesting finding is if I reinstall firmware, basically remove all the lenses info. And if I attach 100cron first, it will recognize 100mm and F2. Then it will refuse take 120 and 180. Both will focus back and forth forever.
Redo the same process, if I attach 120 or 180 first, it will take them and treat them as 100mm f2. Actually both will be detected as 100mm f2. I can change aperture and use them. And you guess it right, it will not take 100mm anymore.  I believe firmware 1.3 added 100mm support but screw up 120 and 180. With firmware 1.2, 100mm was not supported but both 120 and 180 are treated as the same lens as 120 with f2.5 aperture.

Here you can see 24/35/70 are beautifully supported but 100/120/180 all show lens unavailable even I can see focal length documented as 100mm.

Wow it really still looks like a pretty immature product, especially considering the 1000 Euro/USD pricetag.

I'm really sorry for the earlys adopters that are being used as beta testers by Kipon, which should have really hold on on releasing it when basically all but very minor things would have worked properly.

Many thanks to everyone that is doing the whole testing at their own expenses, it's a great service for the small S-community 🙂

I appreciate your persistent posting. But what I really want to see is more confirmation on its reliability, maturity, and durbility for both camera and lens.

Keep on posting to keep this thread alive not necessary helping users.

Xiaoming Zhang messaged me yesterday "latest V2.3 now". Cryptic! I've asked when it will be uploaded to the Kipon website.

+1. The website is typically updated one day after the release is announced.
