GLC Posted January 4, 2018 Share #1 Posted January 4, 2018 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I had this problem with 2 M8's, 2M9's and one MM1 and its back on the M10, but ... it comes and goes unlike the others. The others needed a new sensor for they had a dead pixel line. It arrived the first time a few months ago on some images but disappeared after formatting. then last week it showed up, formatted and disappeared. But this morning it struck. Using a Sandisk Pro 32Gb Love to hear any opinions, obviously Ill be sending it to NJ. Thanks g Welcome, dear visitor! weinlamm Posted January 4, 2018 Share #2 Posted January 4, 2018 If something is "gone" after formatting the card - for me it sounds like a card-problem. Have you ever tried out an other card...? I would do this. I had the same problem some years ago with my M8. Changed the card and never got 'my problem'.
jdlaing Posted January 4, 2018 Share #3 Posted January 4, 2018 (edited) A dead pixel line does not require a new sensor but a remapping. Unfortunately Leica won’t do it in firmware and you must send it in. May I ask what ISO setting you used on that picture? GLC Posted January 4, 2018 Author Share #4 Posted January 4, 2018 A dead pixel line does not require a new sensor but a remapping. Unfortunately Leica won’t do it in firmware and you must send it in. May I ask what ISO setting you used on that picture? ISO 400. The other cameras all had sensor swaps. One M9 had 3 sensor swaps the other 2 and the M8's had a total of 3 swaps between the 2 of them. That was fun. For what its worth I used those cameras for work and hammered them pretty hard but still. If something is "gone" after formatting the card - for me it sounds like a card-problem. Have you ever tried out an other card...? I would do this. I think/hope youre right about this and no I havent.
jdlaing Posted January 4, 2018 Share #5 Posted January 4, 2018 Seems like, in the past, a few folks here had the lines appear at 640 which is why I asked. I only had a problem once with an M9 and Leica NJ mapped it out while I waited. Good luck with it.
Al_OOF Posted January 4, 2018 Share #6 Posted January 4, 2018 I had the same problem, but horizontally. I did not send the camera to the factory but they asked for a picture with the line on a light and uniform background and then emailed me a file to remap the sensor. The problem has disappeared...
