Some photos of the TL18mm pancake lens mounted on the T.

FWIW, the AF is extremely fast, even on the original T.  Seems like a terrific compact option!

How fast compared to the 23mm ? I find the 23mm to be the fastest focusing lens I have among all my T lenses and I do not own the new 18mm.

Best

I do not own the 23 mm and would not know how to quantify a difference for you. Suffice it to say: the 18mm AF is fast.

Would it be possible to post some sample photos shot with the T and the 18? :D

Here are a couple of snaps just taken. I happen to like the 28mm perspective. Jpegs with minimal post processing.

These 18mm pancake shots were taken with the SL601 a couple of days ago.

Great!  Thanks for sharing the shots.  I've been keenly watching this lens as I've wanting a super slim set up for my T.  I already have the MS optics 21mm pancake but I'm not completely happy with the optics and speed.  The 18mm looks like what I've been hoping for.  Even with the M-T adapter, the MS Optics 21mm is actually still thinner than the 18mm but I'm not so happy with the compromises to get there.

I be found it a fantastic little lens on the CL. It’s definitey the less sharp of all my Leica optics, especially at the edges, but it’s such a small form factor that can be forgiven. I will be selling my MS Optics too. Cute... but really soft as at all apertures and more of entry than anything.

Not quite expert, though...

Given its 'TL' designation, this lens has been designed for L-series cameras with APS-C sensors, although it can be fitted to other Leica cameras via an adaptor.

To LeicaS2:

You are correct, but I was writing of the CL+18 kit which I understand is, at present, all-black only.

I'm not sure whether a "stand-alone" 18 is YET available in silver.
