surfmanjoe Posted December 30, 2017 Share #1 Posted December 30, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am wondering if a half case made for M9 can be used on M240? I found a deal online, could not try it before buying. the seller has no idea. Thanks.
Advertisement Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 Hi surfmanjoe, Take a look here M9 half case for M240?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
DirkR440 Posted December 30, 2017 Share #2 Posted December 30, 2017 I don't think so, the M240 is bigger than the M9
ECohen Posted December 30, 2017 Share #3 Posted December 30, 2017 IMHO Don't waste your money on a 1/2 case, it makes the camera "thicker" I went that route and my 1/2 case 14 886 sits in a box unused
Kwesi Posted December 30, 2017 Share #4 Posted December 30, 2017 funny you should say that. for me it makes huge positive difference in how the camera handles and feels in my hands. Also a great value for the money. BUT stay away from the "cognac" color, Leica has nice photos of it but in real life it looks more like faded khaki that one has stayed in the box unused for a few years now.

I usually put the camera left sided in my bag, each time I pick it out, always press the info button on back and the focusing button/viewing window on front. so thought a case could help to avoid that. thx Edited December 30, 2017 by surfmanjoe

Dont buy the M9 case. It won't fit. Bottom line the camera looks great without a case. I definitely hand hold at slower speeds (below 1/15) much more easy with the Leica brand case

bocaburger Posted January 3, 2018 Share #8 Posted January 3, 2018 I have the Leica full everready cases for mine. With the top part removed, the bottom part is the same as Leica's half case with one important improvement: a hanging back flap that protects the LCD and buttons from inadvertent contact when closed. I got mine used for the cost of the half-case new. I only used the top part occasionally, when I'm using a short lens and don't want to carry a bag. Very convenient, excellent protection and better camera handling (for me)
digger1914 Posted January 9, 2018 Share #10 Posted January 9, 2018 I can assure the OP that a half case for an M9 will not fit a 240. I have tried to make it so!
JeTexas Posted January 11, 2018 Share #11 Posted January 11, 2018 I can definitely say the M9 Luigi half case won't fit. The camera will slide in, but the case isn't cut to accomodate the thumb grip and wheel on the 240, and none of the buttons on the back are accessible. I got mine used for the cost of the half-case new. I only used the top part occasionally, when I'm using a short lens and don't want to carry a bag. I have found myself in the same position buying a full ERC and only using the bottom. When I bought my 262 in autumn 2016 it appeared sensible to buy a half case. The dealer threw in a neoprene case and I found the half case fitted inside. However, come Black Friday I spotted a great deal on a long nose cognac ERC for just over £100 new! I bought it but was a bit dismayed to see just how big the top half of the case was! I didn't realise it had a recess to hold what I think should be the additional viewfinder for the wide angle lenses! Needless to say it doesn't fit I my bag! However, I was pleased to see the bottom half was much better than the half case because of that protection flap! To be honest I can't see why the standard half case doesn't have that flap. Anyway I am just using the bottom half of the ERC as well and popping it in the neoprene case when needed. John
mmx_2 Posted January 19, 2018 Share #13 Posted January 19, 2018 I used to use a Luigis half case on my M240, but then I got the Leica M handgrip and now that's what I use. The M9 case will not fit.
