How about giving it a try, if there is a shop near you. You might just fall in love with what the lens sees - or the way the m10 viewfinder shows the world. The experience is a big part of it. (That's how I ended up buying a 28 lux when trying an SL ;-) )

Silver M10 or Black would take same pictures ;).

Don't forget that Silver Chrom Summilux-M 50mm Asph. is 430g (Black 335g) if that matter.

Pre-Asph II Summilux-M 50mm is lighter: 275g Black and 380g Silver.

If I read you correctly you have had an offer on the M9 which may be too good to turn down. You may not get such an offer later and it may well take some time to sell. If so, sell it and get an M10 now and a 50 Summilux later.

If not, despite your comments about the M9's clunkiness and little LCD it still produces great photos, so sell the Zeiss and get the Summilux.

Actually the offer on M9 was low and it didn't work anyway, so I am now thinking of getting 50mm summilux used mint. funny thing I am turning down very good offer on M10 and really worried I will regret it, its even too good to be true. however I check a recent website comparing M9 with M10 and I really liked the M9 rending better, however as soon ISO went 800 M9 was very bad which is to be expected but M10 hold it like a normal canon dslr up to 6400.

There is no easy answer (as always) to this question... why not try and find a good used Summilux Asph and stick with your M9 for the time being - M10 prices will come down - Leica will never admit it but their digital bodies are moneypits and they depreciate like a lead balloons.
