earleygallery Posted December 27, 2017 Share #21 Â Posted December 27, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Given the sensor issues with the M9. unless you know it has the latest sensor, if you have someone ready to buy it, moving to a later model M makes sense. derleicaman Posted December 27, 2017 Share #23 Â Posted December 27, 2017 Oops I meant to say I also have the Chrome Summilux v2, so I can compare the original Summilux, the Summilux ASPH and the Sonnar on the M10
harmen Posted December 28, 2017 Share #24 Â Posted December 28, 2017 (edited) How about giving it a try, if there is a shop near you. You might just fall in love with what the lens sees - or the way the m10 viewfinder shows the world. The experience is a big part of it. (That's how I ended up buying a 28 lux when trying an SL ;-) ) Edited December 28, 2017 by harmen
malfaris Posted December 29, 2017 Author Share #25  Posted December 29, 2017 not bad idea hermen, I will visit the leica store but a bit far still will do it. however I got very good offer on  1 month old M10 but black and lust for silver , really hard to decide but the price difference is more than 1K$
a.noctilux Posted December 30, 2017 Share #26 Â Posted December 30, 2017 (edited) Silver M10 or Black would take same pictures . Â Don't forget that Silver Chrom Summilux-M 50mm Asph. is 430g (Black 335g) if that matter. Pre-Asph II Summilux-M 50mm is lighter: 275g Black and 380g Silver. Letin Posted December 31, 2017 Share #27 Â Posted December 31, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) lens' always my first choice over bodies. If you were to get an M10 now and save up for 50lux, by the time the fund is ready there'll be M10-P/variations. If money is tight, always get the lens first, just my opinion
MarkP Posted December 31, 2017 Share #28 Â Posted December 31, 2017 (edited) If I read you correctly you have had an offer on the M9 which may be too good to turn down. You may not get such an offer later and it may well take some time to sell. If so, sell it and get an M10 now and a 50 Summilux later. If not, despite your comments about the M9's clunkiness and little LCD it still produces great photos, so sell the Zeiss and get the Summilux. malfaris Posted December 31, 2017 Author Share #29 Â Posted December 31, 2017 Actually the offer on M9 was low and it didn't work anyway, so I am now thinking of getting 50mm summilux used mint. funny thing I am turning down very good offer on M10 and really worried I will regret it, its even too good to be true. however I check a recent website comparing M9 with M10 and I really liked the M9 rending better, however as soon ISO went 800 M9 was very bad which is to be expected but M10 hold it like a normal canon dslr up to 6400. MarkP Posted December 31, 2017 Share #30 Â Posted December 31, 2017 Enjoy the Summilux.
evikne Posted December 31, 2017 Share #31  Posted December 31, 2017 The Summilux will make a bigger difference in your pictures than an M10. So that is probably a good choice.

dunhoy Posted January 8, 2018 Share #36  Posted January 8, 2018 There is no easy answer (as always) to this question... why not try and find a good used Summilux Asph and stick with your M9 for the time being - M10 prices will come down - Leica will never admit it but their digital bodies are moneypits and they depreciate like a lead balloons.
