The company I guess is lolumina.com Anyone tried it before? Which size must be ordered?
Advertisement Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 Hi MyLeicaWorld, Take a look here Is it possible to use a soft shutter with the Q?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
HighlandK Posted December 18, 2017 Share #2 Posted December 18, 2017 I had a softer shutter button on my Nikon FM many years ago when shutter buttons were small, recessed and threaded to take a cable release. It was an advantage then but I haven’t really seen the practical utility since shutter buttons bevame larger and more accessible, as in the Q. Indeed, I fear that a raised release could be triggered accidentally more easily. I realise that doesn’t answer your question, more wondering why folks find it necessary.

lucerne Posted December 19, 2017 Share #4 Posted December 19, 2017 The Q shutter release is already extremely sensitive. Adding a further layer to the button isn't going to achieve much for you. Just extra revenue for the manufacturer. I think you are over-thinking the customisation process. I just sold all the unnecessary accessories for my M. I had spent £850 on them. It's crazy.
viramati Posted December 20, 2017 Share #5 Posted December 20, 2017 (edited) Personally I find it really doesn't need one as the button is already well rounded and sensitive to the touch. I used to use them on my M's and Fuji's but the only accessory I have on the Q is the grip Edited December 20, 2017 by viramati
Sulis Posted January 2, 2018 Share #6 Posted January 2, 2018 I made one out of black Sugru - definitely makes for a more positive and controlled action (for me).

Couleuriker Posted December 30, 2020 Share #8 Posted December 30, 2020 Is it attached with glue or is there any screwing option on the Q?
HighlandK Posted December 31, 2020 Share #9 Posted December 31, 2020 It clearly has to be glued as the shutter button is smooth and slightly rounded. Not sure I would want to glue anything to it but each to his/her own.
MikeD70 Posted July 12, 2021 Share #10 Posted July 12, 2021 Does anyone know it the factory release button is removable? I have been a fan of the soft release buttons for years, and had them on most of my cameras. I think I had one on my Q, but that is gone, and I can't seem to unscrew the one on my Q2? Normally just damp thumb pressure does the trick, but not this one. Anyone have any first hand experience with removal?? Thanks
Mulder Posted August 9, 2021 Share #11 Posted August 9, 2021 (edited) You probably can remove the factory shutter button, but it will almost certainly involve a repair technician to do it; and then you'd have nothing to mount the soft shutter button on, which would defeat the purpose. The Lolumina buttons can be easily removed; there are simple instructions on their web site: https://lolumina.com/removal-instructions/ Basically, don't overthink it and make the decision harder; it'll drive you nuts and cost more money.
