Hello again,

finally I managed to take at least a few portraits.

The following is wide open without CSF, ISO 320.

The backlights are Christmas-LED about 4-5 meters behind.

Apart from a little bit brightness (0,7) no development.

One experience is:

Focussing is not easy. Majority of the pics the eyes were not exact in focus.

I always change between LV / EVF and RF. I haven't found my way yet.

What a diva!

I mean the lens...  ;)

Now urban world again - easiest way for me to try it out at the moment.

Bit more saturation and contrast. ISO 200.

I think it's a lens to leave the skylight just as bright white as it comes...

A lens for dominating white - and glow of course...

And an example at 6.3 - ISO 1.000 crop of center and upper left edge.

Just a 90mm lens...

The following boring pics are only meant to show how unpredictable the blur of the lights is if you only use RF.

The lights in foreground are about 15m far, those in the background more than 100, probably 500m.

Note the differences: For my part I could distinguish three types of blurry light: large donut rings, small rings, bubbles.

First is with, next two are without CSF.

City lights again.

Without CSF. One wide open at ISO 6.400, one about 6.3ish at 20.000

I'm still uncertain about the potential in subjects beyond portrait but I know I will try more...

And finally a man in the city.

With CSF at ISO 4.000

Hi contrast and brightness.

Excited about this lens but I guess I should say good night now...  ;)

I've created a Facebook group for this mythical Thambar lens, please post your photos taken with the old or the new Thambar 90mm f2.2

An OK review but an amazing portrait

https://eoloperfido.com/blog/leica-thambar

This is not a lens that benefits from a pixel peeking review! I like the way he has just responded to the lens rather than just tried to analyse it.

I've never read Sean Reid, but I suspect he would have a problem reviewing this lens.
