Ernest Posted October 14, 2017 Share #3 Posted October 14, 2017 Jetty, in Dorset. Leica SL, Voigtlander 15mm and Formatt-Hitech Firecrest Filters. Thanks for viewing, best regards Vieri And this groin (groyne) is not too far from The Jetty Restaurant in Dorset? Many times, you capture a landscape that eschews any evidence of civilization, signature of man, but here we have a structure that alters the landscape, the erosion of sand. Admire the long exposure in that sense of timelessness. Bravo! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
platypus Posted October 15, 2017 Share #4 Posted October 15, 2017 Whether jetty or groyne....it's a beautiful image, particularly in b&w.

Vieri Posted October 21, 2017 Author Share #6 Posted October 21, 2017 Very nice, but a groyne not a jetty. A groyne indeed, I stand corrected. Glad you enjoyed the image! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Hello Ernest, indeed, I normally photograph (and generally share) man-free landscapes, or man-influenced landscapes but without clear signs of that influence. Often, though, I love to investigate the work of man in the nature and the influence of man over nature - I tend to make projects out of that kind of work, however, rather than share one photograph here and there, it seems to me that these images make more sense when displayed together. I posted this one as a change from my usual posts, and to see if ladies and gentlemen here would enjoyed it despite its difference from my normal work... Whether jetty or groyne....it's a beautiful image, particularly in b&w. Thank you very much indeed, glad you enjoyed it! Beautiful! Thank you very much Stuart, glad you liked it! Best regards, Vieri
A miller Posted October 22, 2017 Share #7 Posted October 22, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) you might want to check the white points in the horizon, they seem to need to be brightened a bit. The fact that the white points in the pier in the foreground is brighter than the horizon gives an imbalances that interferes with the enjoyment of the image, IMHO. Ernstk Posted October 25, 2017 Share #8 Posted October 25, 2017 It's a lovely image and is perfectly balanced. Including the white points... Ernst
A miller Posted October 25, 2017 Share #9 Posted October 25, 2017 It's a lovely image and is perfectly balanced. Including the white points... Ernst one man's imbalance is another man's balance, I guess...I couldn't have a more opposite view of this image than Ernst... Horses for courses, for sure... Ernstk Posted October 26, 2017 Share #10 Posted October 26, 2017 one man's imbalance is another man's balance, I guess...I couldn't have a more opposite view of this image than Ernst... Horses for courses, for sure... Yes, that's true. But I think it's a bit of a leap to say that it interferes with the enjoyment of what is a great image. Just my opinion, of course... Vieri Posted October 29, 2017 Author Share #11 Posted October 29, 2017 Well, I know very well that no image can please everyone in the same way, there always might be someone not liking something or other on one of my images, for the most various reasons, and I am absolutely fine with that, no problem at all @ A Miller: obviously, I don't agree with your analysis but thank you all the same for your suggestions. @ Ernst: thank you very much indeed, I am glad you enjoyed it!
