Old electrical equipment

Many years ago, on the occasion of an insurance control, we were requested to replace an old wooden interruptor and the associated power socket. I had even forgotten I had kept these relics, and just found them back in a box. As a true Leica-maniac, the first thing I did was to aim my V-Lux 20 at the pieces. That was the way I discovered the name "Belgium" - I was living there when replacing the thing - inside the interruptor.

Hello Pierre,

Nice photos.

What is an "interruptor" and what is doing in the nice wooden container?

Best Regards,

Michael

Sorry, Michael, I erroneously used the French term "interrupteur" that must be translated "electrical switch". This old one was connected to e table lamp.

Hello Pierre,

And what is the little wooden container for?

Best Regards,

Michael

I am not sure I understand your question.  The "little wooden container" with the push-button IS the switch, the electrical cable - incidentally, originally covered with tissue! - going out from the bottom.
