To be honest I just point the camera at things that I want too see in a photo. If the resultant picture leads to discussion or discourse that’s all cool and the gang but not necessarily my intention Although that said.. it’s the infestation of clucking seagulls that most reminds me of rodents (there’s plenty of rats here too) and just like rats seagulls are as bold as brass, help themselves to food from the bin and if you happen across a bunch of them it’s a bit scary.

Lots of cases of them stealing food (sandwiches, fish & chips &c.) from people sitting outside (one or two of said idiots have even phoned the police on the emergency, 999 number!!).

Adam Bonn Posted January 29, 2021 Share #1130 Posted January 29, 2021 looking at old pictures during the lockdown and this caught my eye! I ended up selling the 50 cron to help fund the 50 lux I don't regret that (well in the context of keeping both lenses wasn't possible) But sometimes I find a shot with the cron/m9 combo and I do have to ask if the ASPH lux would draw the scene in such a pleasing way.... (then I remember the flare the self retracting hood, the stop down focus shift !!!!!) Still perhaps one day I'll get another cron.... Welcome, dear visitor! The Sunny Corner by Adam Bonn, on Flickr I think I understand what you want to say. I own Lux 50 ASPH and Summicron 28. Summicron rendering is different, I can describe it as subtle / transparent and in the same time reach. Lux rendering is more brush like, not so transparent but with a little bit more character. I own M-E220 so Lux is very useful in low light but Summicron is still quite appealing option. The main reason for me to keep Lux is Summicron's focus shift. I really hate this phenomena. Do you know which Cron version doesn't exhibit focus shift (Apo excluded)?

Do you know which Cron version doesn't exhibit focus shift (Apo excluded)? I never got the chance to try the 50 cron on the m240, but I have noticed that I prefer the lux on my 240 more than I do on the M9, well sometimes... overall I love the lux - I'm not a man of means, the Lux came up secondhand on a forum at a great price and I moved heaven, earth (and a 50 cron!) to be able to afford it, and whereas I do a little bit miss the cron, I've never regretted getting the lux I also have a 35 summarit, this lens I much prefer on the M9 then I do on the 240. It just seems to turn out a nicer image somehow.. There are a lot of very clever, very knowledgeable people on here, and I ain't one of them! But my hunch is that it has to do with the match between the lens and the sensor. The 35 'rit is quite soft, so I think on the tonal nuances of the M9 sensor they bring out the best in each other. But on the flatter rendering of the 240 sensor, the picture just looks even more soft. Likewise with the lux, as you say it has some character - stopped down a bit it has real bite and this plays nicely with the 240's native rendering. On the M9 however this bite overwrites a little of the filmic (for want of a better word, and there will be better words) character of the M9 But please no one misconstrue me... neither lens is bad and nor is either camera I'm sorry I've no clue which version of cron has no focus shift! Maybe they all do? I had the latest version (type V maybe?) with the floppy retractable hood, no focus tab and more flares than the 1970s 2

Yes, the 35mm Lux does beautifully on the M9, where I use it mainly. Both cameras are special to me, and I enjoy using both.
