Disappearing towers, Glasgow - June 2017

Leica M5, 50mm Summicron v5, Kodak 100T-Max

Stunning image! Was this the result of a demolition mistake? I'd guess that going back in to set charges in the remaining building "fragment" would be very dangerous.

Thanks, Andy - they were using a machine with a long arm that nibbled away at the building here. It was the weekend, so there was no activity

Thanks very much, Tim. As you know, it's always nice to have a photo selected by LFI. I took that shot a few years back. It was on 35mm film, but for some reason I wasn't especially enamoured with any of the images on it, once I'd developed it.

It wasn't until I was scanning some old negatives a couple of weeks ago, that I looked at it again, and was surprised when I scanned that frame. It was shot on Kodak T-Max 100, a film I've rarely shot, and I must say that I'm deeply impressed by the level of detail it records. Every individual brick in that tower is clearly rendered.

Incidentally, Tim - the tonal transitions in this are absolutely sublime. I think this is an area where the M Mono really shines.
