From Steve Huff:

"I do not think the Maestro III will be in a new S. In fact, I am not so sure there will ever be a new S. Sales of the S have been abysmal and all rumors I have heard for a while now is there will not be another S. Rumors but these came from within the industry. "

Like many rumours, this one happens to be wrong. Apart from the fact that there is no Maestro III – not this year anyway.

I think you misunderstood. Michael (mjh) is refuting Steve Huff’s rumor that there will not be another S. In other words, one is coming. But not with a Maestro III processor, at least not this year.

Michael should know. His sources are better than yours or mine.

""ライカが2018年中に新しい中判デジタルカメラを発表する(おそらく今年のフォトキナまでにはお披露目される)。
    正式名称かは不明だが「LEICA HW 64」と呼ばれている。""

>>Leica will announce a new medium format digital camera in 2018 (perhaps it will be announced by this year photokina).
Although it is unknown whether it is official name, it is registered as "LEICA HW 64".

hopefully its 64MP :D

HW64. Is it a hybrid viewfinder or another German abbreviation, impossible to decode without some insight ?

I would appreciate a non system one build-in lens camera with a Wide and Fast lens abd Hybrid viewfinder. A bit smaller than a Texan Leica will work for my travel needs.

We will know more by the end of August hopefully.

It's got the same size sensor just double the pixels i.e.64 megapixels

It's also got the same viewfinder and body form.

with a monochrom version :p

It all sounds good, but having used the two M-mono houses (now sold), a monochrome sensor is -likely - too restrictive for me and my hobbyist shooting... Irrespective of a one- or three-channel sensor, it's good to hear that the S-system rolls on - following up on "...there will be a lot of future things..." - as stated in the January LuLa video...

Good news. I think it is ergonomically perfect. I also want the OVF, EVF is for framing, I want to see the subtle smile on the subject's face to get the exact moment of the shot.

Neil, thank you!

If it’s the same viewfinder, I will be buying.

Retail price will be $28750

Thanks - or not - pending on the eyes that see and the deepness of the pocket(s)... But I guess the recent price adjustment of the S007 indicated what to come.
