mjh Posted June 25, 2018 Share #81 Posted June 25, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) From Steve Huff: "I do not think the Maestro III will be in a new S. In fact, I am not so sure there will ever be a new S. Sales of the S have been abysmal and all rumors I have heard for a while now is there will not be another S. Rumors but these came from within the industry. " Like many rumours, this one happens to be wrong. Apart from the fact that there is no Maestro III – not this year anyway.

Jeff S Posted June 25, 2018 Share #83 Posted June 25, 2018 (edited) Trust Me...... https://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/276582-s-008/?p=3542866I think you misunderstood. Michael (mjh) is refuting Steve Huff’s rumor that there will not be another S. In other words, one is coming. But not with a Maestro III processor, at least not this year. Michael should know. His sources are better than yours or mine. Jeff Edited June 25, 2018 by Jeff S

ynp Posted July 2, 2018 Share #90 Posted July 2, 2018 HW64. Is it a hybrid viewfinder or another German abbreviation, impossible to decode without some insight ? I would appreciate a non system one build-in lens camera with a Wide and Fast lens abd Hybrid viewfinder. A bit smaller than a Texan Leica will work for my travel needs. We will know more by the end of August hopefully. Yevgeny
erlingmm Posted July 3, 2018 Share #91 Posted July 3, 2018 HW probably means Hollywood, the code word for the S series (see for example Jono's review of the S007 when it came out: https://www.getdpi.com/wp/2015/09/hollywood-and-the-decisive-momentthe-leica-s-typ-007/ As to what 64 means, one can only hope...
Guest Posted July 3, 2018 Share #92 Posted July 3, 2018 It's got the same size sensor just double the pixels i.e.64 megapixels It's also got the same viewfinder and body form. Neil
helged Posted July 3, 2018 Share #93 Posted July 3, 2018 with a monochrom version It all sounds good, but having used the two M-mono houses (now sold), a monochrome sensor is -likely - too restrictive for me and my hobbyist shooting... Irrespective of a one- or three-channel sensor, it's good to hear that the S-system rolls on - following up on "...there will be a lot of future things..." - as stated in the January LuLa video... Neil Good news. I think it is ergonomically perfect. I also want the OVF, EVF is for framing, I want to see the subtle smile on the subject's face to get the exact moment of the shot. kparseg Posted July 3, 2018 Share #97 Posted July 3, 2018 It's got the same size sensor.... same viewfinder and body form. Neil And probably the same $20k price
erlingmm Posted July 5, 2018 Share #98 Posted July 5, 2018 And probably the same $20k price That might be a bit optimistic, that is less than a 50 mpix P1 system today as far as I know. If it really comes with 64, I think it will be a bit higher.

helged Posted July 5, 2018 Share #100 Posted July 5, 2018 Retail price will be $28750 Thanks - or not - pending on the eyes that see and the deepness of the pocket(s)... But I guess the recent price adjustment of the S007 indicated what to come.
