Hey everyone,

I have just bought a new 246 Monochrom. Twice it has frozen on me in the first couple of days of use. Had to pop out the battery to reset.

Wonder if it has something to do with auto power off glitch?

Don't really want to send it off for a check up.

Thoughts?

I don't have issues in normal situations, only with EVF on a hot day, with extended usage. However there are things to check. SD card comes to mind first, secondly the firmware release level. Early versions could contribute to this.

I'm using firmware 1.0.1.0 and there are several threads on SD cards

It is running the latest firmware. 10.10 and fortunately hasn't happened again over the last few days. I wonder if they will release a new firmware update for this camera.

Are you deleting images in camera?

I would most definitely try another brand of SD card. I struggled a lot with my, at that time, new M9 MP back in 2011-12 until I tried another brand of card and the problem was solved. I have had a M246 for  a little more than 3 months now and have seen no problems of that kind. My personal challenge is to expose the pictures correctly.

best wishes from Denmark

Very weird.

My M8 would lock up all the time - I was very proficient in taking out the battery to reset the camera :)

My M9 less so - but would do from time to time ( very rarely, but it would happen ).

My M-D did lockup one or two times, but never again.

My 246 never ever did lock up.Once I though it locked up but i pressed the video button by accident - maybe that is what happened to you ? I think that if the video mode is pressed, the LVF should come up so we know the camera is on video mode.
