ECohen Posted August 6, 2017 Share #1 Posted August 6, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm trying to set up the X2 for street photography. Thought I'd try something new, at least to me.I set the aperture to f/8 and the shutter speed to 1/1000 (I'm in bright sun)I was going to set the ISO to Auto and shoot away. The camera wont stay/set on Auto? I am assuming this set up is not a choice?Am I missing something? How would you set up your X2 to accomplish my purpose? (small aperture/ fast shutter speed /auto exposure)Any advice is welcome...... Advertisement Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 Hi ECohen, Take a look here X2 wont set set to ISO Auto ?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
TMorita Posted August 17, 2017 Share #2 Posted August 17, 2017 If you apply the Sunny 16 rule, the right exposure settings for full sunlight would be 1/400th at f/8. Why are you trying to use 1/1000th at f/8? Toshi
ECohen Posted August 17, 2017 Author Share #3 Posted August 17, 2017 Thanks....that works too.The X2 is a fun, carry everywhere camera.I was trying to have the exposure more auto.... keeping control of DOF and fast shutter speed. And willing to compromise the noise for auto exposure. To me it would make the X2 a more versatile camera. When being used for less serious work I could use B&W jpg. giving up RAW and the processing step.It was just a whim ....I do wonder why Leica didn't include Auto ISO and let the user choose the aperture and shutter speed? I'm sure there is a logical reason. --
