cmod Posted August 5, 2017 Share #1 Posted August 5, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) M10 just a few months old. Shutter suddenly started clipping 70% of image at 1/4000. Also looks like it's not quite getting out of the way at 1/3000, either. Is this common? Back to the factory? Samples attached. Welcome, dear visitor! mdemeyer Posted August 6, 2017 Share #2 Posted August 6, 2017 Have you upgraded the firmware to the latest? I know they listed a fixed bug as black images at short shutter speeds. Just a wild guess...
cmod Posted August 6, 2017 Author Share #3 Posted August 6, 2017 Have you upgraded the firmware to the latest? I know they listed a fixed bug as black images at short shutter speeds. Just a wild guess... Aaaaaaand. Fixed. THANK YOU. I had just upgraded firmware at the start of July. I don't really keep on track of these forums / Leica news, so the idea that there might have been even newer firmware never crossed my mind. Between issues like this and the recent TL bricking kerfuffle with the Visoflex … Leica should probably thoroughly review their software shipping pipeline. I mean, it's cute, in that it makes Leica seem like a quaint bumbling little village cobbler, but seems out of character for a purveyor of precision instruments. Many thanks again.
