stephengv Posted June 26, 2017 Share #1 Posted June 26, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I have a Manfrotto Befree Carbon Fiber tripod. I a m currently looking for an L-Bracket for my camera. The Manfrotto Q2 L bracket is expensive and you have to use an Allen wrench to instal and remove it. Are their alternatives? Jeff S Posted June 26, 2017 Share #2 Posted June 26, 2017 http://www.reallyrightstuff.com/BM240-L-Set-L-plate-for-M240 Good product, but similar issues. It is modular, though, and baseplate attaches with simple wing nut. Jeff
Tailwagger Posted June 26, 2017 Share #3 Posted June 26, 2017 The RRS is certainly worth considering. Not cheap, but it replaces the entire baseplate which makes it a very nice integrated design that as Jeff S mentioned just screws right on. The other advantage is that you can add a grip. Certainly not cheap, but a Leica grip alone will set you back a more money, where the RRS does double duty. Extremely well made as well. Have one for my 240, I just ordered my second one for the M10. DaveNC Posted June 26, 2017 Share #4 Posted June 26, 2017 I see RRS didn't make one for the M-D. Too bad, I'd have bought it.

Another vote for RRS. I use their base plate on my 240 and couldn't be happier with it. If I ever feel the need for an L plate I can add the extra wing. Ranchhand Posted June 27, 2017 Share #6 Posted June 27, 2017 Since I have a RRS L-bracket for my M240, and since it and the M-D are the same size, they seem to fit both cameras with no problem.

Jeff S Posted June 27, 2017 Share #8 Posted June 27, 2017 You can call or email RRS to discuss solutions. They're very helpful. Jeff
