To adjust the 7 Artisans 50 1.1 you should have gotten the focus chart and a small flat blade screwdriver with your lens.

Check yotube for videos on location of set screws and adjusting the focus cam.

On the focus chart it tells you which way to adjust the cam if it is back focusing or front focusing.

I just hand held mine at about 3 feet away on an angle, room was bright enough for 1/250shutter speed. can use a tripod too if room is dark so not getting blur from movement.

i checked focus at F1.1 and f1,4

if im shooting at  higher F stop i use my crom

That‘s the thing I can’t find a single video that shows anything about the adjustment. Could you help me out?

You don’t really need a video. The instructions you get with it are very simple. Loosen the two screws. Rotate the ring with the cam on it ever so slightly in the direction needed depending on front or back focus and re tighten the screws. Simple and fast.

I bought it used and have no instructions. Just has a massive front focus. Still not sure if I know how to do it.

When it comes to Russian and Ukrainian lenses I would not applaud their craftsmanship – I have very mixed experiences with lenses of this origin (and from the GDR). If I got a good one, it could be a real marvel, and my Jupiter 8 of later production is just fine too, but I can remember other lenses from there that could be thrown away without remorse (just the waste of money had hurt). Modern Voigtländer lenses can be really bad too (I never found a really good 4/21, not screw mount, not M mount, and the 4/25 screw mount I have is just okay, not really good). With new Leica lenses I never had any issues, with used ones only very few (besides those they had due to their age).

I have seen enough threads about issues with new Leica lenses. Here, at LUF.

I have seen, deal enough not new Leica lenses with problems.

Yet, I haven't seen FSU RF lenses with as bad optics as in old Leitz lenses.

FSU RF lenses from fifties are in much better condition (optically) than Leitz lenses of same age.

Mechanically they are just as good as Leitz made. Most of the negative comments comes from those who never did, used FSU RF lens after CLA. I guess.
