My Bro in Kuala Lumpur shot this with the H6D100c with some files shot at ISO12500..................amazing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOJlx98XHFk Because of the leaf shutter in the lenses I've also managed to shoot my H6D100c at a much lower shutter speed than I could do with my S007

As I said, not very resourceful. I could give you the dealers, but then I’d have to kill you.

I was speaking about the S006 and S007. The 008 doesn’t exist.

Jeff

There is no dealer selling brand new cameras to people waiting months on a waiting list at used prices.

DREAM ON.

This thread is called "New S 008". I would have thought someone so resourceful would know that 8 comes after 7.

While I won't debate this, I am still not entirely convinced the next S is actually being called "type 008". Following Leica's return to the roots naming concept (M8, M9 .... M10), I can see a S3 appearing as well.

Speaking of prices... A quick B+H price up shows the S is more expensive than the 100MP H.

H6-100c

35-90, 120, 100, 80, 50, 35

$65,425.00

S 007

30-90, 120, 100, 70, 45, 24

$68,220.00

I was responding to your own post, silly. Or didn’t you know this was the S008 thread.

And, yes, these same dealers were (and are) selling M10s and SL gear for under list, even when others had waiting lists. Not much of a wait list for the 007 these days.

It's the price of a new S and it will be around the same cost as a 008.

It was in response to someone saying the H-100 was twice the price of the S. In actual fact a whole kit with lenses is around the same because of the S lens price.

Neil got a great deal on an H6-100 so your argument is moot and like most of your arguments, pointless and irritating.

They’re irritating to you because you can’t refute facts about buying new Leica gear (whether S, M or SL) under list price at reputable dealers, except by saying “rubbish” or “dream on”. Now that’s irritating... and ignorant besides.

This M10 is new, but advertised as used mint, for $447 less than B&H. And that’s just low hanging fruit...there are lots of deals for those willing to search, and not just dream...

It’s not just shopping wisely. When I bought my H6D100c not only did I get it for nearly 30% off the B&H price but saved myself nearly $6k in shipping and import duty after having a forum member who I have never met hand Cary it to Phuket Thailand for me........... there really is a good few honest people in the world.

So, what is otherwise called smuggling? That's a money-saver!

I consider that shopping wisely. Kudos to you; most aren’t that resourceful. Other creative opportunities are available when shopping the S system, which has been my point, despite the naysayer.

lol you think getting a discount on a 4 year old camera is like negotiating a world trade deal.

Huh? What 4 year old camera? These deals are and were available on cameras less than a year old, often while there are still waits...S, SL and M system. And now the X1D. I know of other even better sources and opportunities, but obviously they’re not going to be advertised.

Refuting comments about “rubbish” and “dream on” aren’t meant to be earth shattering, just factual and unfortunately necessary.

Rubbish.

Dream on.

Move on.

The CL was only available since November.

There are those who have posted here on the CL “availability” thread that they’re still waiting for one.

Popflash has them in stock now, and for $300 under list...

It’s brand new.

Just a quick example. S system issues prompted far steeper discounts early on with the S007 here and elsewhere. And that was before any negotiation.

Fair play Jeff but I'm not really talking about saving $400.

I'm talking about comparing two whole kits with six lenses in each - they work out about the same cost. eg. $65,000 worth. No matter which deal you wangle, it's still going to work out around the same if you buy new. Deals can be had on both sides as Neil has shown with his Blad.

Most think that the 100MP Hasselblad and Phase One are much more expensive but it really isn't the case when you consider a whole kit. That's all.

Even between Phase One and Hasselblad, the difference in the long run isn't as much as it seems because with Phase One you don't have to spend £6K on a new body every time you upgrade your back, like you have to with Hasselblad.
