Advertisement Posted June 28, 2018 Posted June 28, 2018 Hi JSU, Take a look here I still love my M9 / M-E. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
JSU Posted June 28, 2018 Share #62 Posted June 28, 2018 Hey guys, brand new Leica user here ! Purchased a used Leica M9 with 50mm Summicron (V5). It case with a Leica 36mm viewfinder (no idea why, don't think it has any use on the M9), the SF58 flash and a Leicatime half case and neckstrap. The M9 still has the old sensor but it's only got 1220 clicks ! I'll have to test the sensor for corrosion though ;-) There is no correlation between shutter actuations and sensor corrosion. Rus Posted June 28, 2018 Author Share #63 Posted June 28, 2018 There is no correlation between shutter actuations and sensor corrosion. No there isn't. But shutter count plays into one's decision as to whether a particular M9 is worth buying or not, as does the version of the sensor. I think Joris818 was trying to say that he believed it was a good buy because of the low shutter count, despite its having the old sensor.
Geoff Marshall Posted July 4, 2018 Share #64 Posted July 4, 2018 Here’s mine, M9 with recent sensor replacement. Only had it a couple of days and loving it. I may let her indoors borrow my M8 now. Geoff Marshall Posted July 5, 2018 Share #66 Posted July 5, 2018 (edited) I expect my M9 will look worn like yours before long, I intend using it rather than just admiring it on a shelf. Hopefully I will get many years of use from it. By the way, love the look of your M9 Edited July 5, 2018 by Geoff Marshall
Ko.Fe. Posted July 5, 2018 Share #67 Posted July 5, 2018 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) This is one of the benefits of film, digital Ms over Bessa Rs and R-D1. They worn out nicely. But I'm not sure about my M-E. I hope to keep it and use for years to be able to check how it looks with worn exterior. For now, paint on M-E back buttons is already partially gone, due to close contact with my belly . Edited July 5, 2018 by Ko.Fe.
Topsy Posted July 6, 2018 Share #68 Posted July 6, 2018 I expect my M9 will look worn like yours before long, I intend using it rather than just admiring it on a shelf. Hopefully I will get many years of use from it. By the way, love the look of your M9 I can't claim the credit for the wear and tear on mine, as I said it was like it when I bought it. Oddly though it hasn't got a huge shot count, the seller admitted he'd done the brassing himself for effect. I have 2 others that are in much better condition but this one is my EDC and most used. If I am travelling light this one is all I take so it is going to get more W&T as time goes by from use though.
