I'm using this case for my M10.

I noticed something interested in the instructions. It recommends I remove the little flaps that stop the ring on my wrist and shoulder straps from contacting the camera...

The only way I can remove them is to cut them off...

Is this normal/standard practice when using these straps with a case?

Are those little flappy things only meant for going naked (no case)?

If that's the case (no pun intended) I just learnt something.

What's the general consensus on these flaps?

I'm using a Luigi strap with non-removable leather protection 'flaps' with the Leica Protector for the M10 and it's no problem at all.  Not sure why they say to remove them.  Unless they were very stiff, they don't interfere with the protector at all.  See image...

I have removed them without cutting.

I am using an Arte di Mano case and strap and I stuff the flap down in the case. I guess to keep the M10 as realistic as possible Leica did not put the little plastic body protectors on the camera.

Just ignore recommendations. That is what I did and works perfectly
