bocaburger Posted June 13, 2017 Share #21 Posted June 13, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I always used it before, in fact it was one thing I really disliked about the M240 before I got one. Then I got used to being without it, and realized I don't need it, because from all my years of using M cameras I have the frames memorized w.r.t. each other. Now I don't consider the selector a selling point anymore, in fact I consider it a liability, one more thing to possibly go wrong (as happened to me once on an M6TTL). Advertisement Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Hi bocaburger, Take a look here Frame selector?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
cp995 Posted June 13, 2017 Share #22 Posted June 13, 2017 From a "design" and "beauty" perspective I'd prefer a lot M-cameras without it. I'm using it only in the rare case of not matching LTM Adapters for these lenses.
UliWer Posted June 14, 2017 Share #23 Posted June 14, 2017 As always, Leica marketing answers the question: For the M3 the frame selector was a very important device to make full use of the M. When the M240 had none, Leica people said: Nobody uses it. For the M10 the frame selector is a very important device to make full use of the M. lct Posted June 15, 2017 Share #24 Posted June 15, 2017 [...] When the M240 had none, Leica people said: Nobody uses it. [...] Same people claiming that "M (typ 240)" means something i guess. Unless they've been ousted by Leica...
