platypus Posted May 10, 2017 Share #1  Posted May 10, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Walking yesterday I chanced upon our river's resident female black swan sitting on her nest of sticks on the little willow tree island in the middle distance of this shot.  Three eggs could be seen after she hopped off into the water, there are probably more eggs as she and her mate usually rear six cygnets every eighteen months or so.  The swan wasn't particularly disturbed by my presence and returned to the nest as soon as I had moved away. If I had I expected to see her I would have taken the 75 for a walk instead of the 21!  M262/21 Super-Elmar   Welcome, dear visitor! fotografr Posted May 17, 2017 Share #6 Â Posted May 17, 2017 Incredible that you can crop that much and still have the image hold together. The black swan is beautiful. I've never seen one. Â I continue to be knocked over by the beauty of your country and your ability to make it shine with your camera technique.
platypus Posted May 18, 2017 Author Share #7  Posted May 18, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Brent, thank you. The ability of a digital camera to deliver such a huge crop is rather amazing. Not that I crop my images often, but I can still remember how surprised I was the first time I did crop something shot with my (then) new M9, coming across as I had from film......or is it only Leica cameras and lenses that deliver such a result?
