Sensor spots on a brand new SL

My brand new (one week) SL has a couple of sensor spots, which look to be light oil. 

Any suggestions on cleaning the sensor?

Would the same procedure be used as on my M-P 240?

Mine gets them too. Both cameras. I originally though it was from the lens but now I'm starting to think it's from the shutter as it doesn't seem to matter what lens I use.

 

Same procedure as the M is fine. I'm using the "oil" version of the visible dust swabs/liquid.

It's quite common for new camera shutters to spit a little oil at first. Obviously you need to wet clean the sensor to remove them.

Understood. I read nowhere of an M-P style "sensor check/inspect".  ... to see if I have done a complete job.

With such a high-quality EVF, the SL have, you just need to put on the lens and shift the aperture to the highest where you can easily spot any dust. Just point towards a bright light.

I would rather go to the place you bought the camera. That should be part of the typical service (cleaning of sensor) - I think I even got a voucher for that, though I never used it.

As a certified Leica dealer they should have more experience than you (sorry, no offence meant, please).
