Advertisement Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 Hi tsleica, Take a look here 135 Elmar, worth it?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
uhoh7 Posted April 30, 2017 Share #22 Â Posted April 30, 2017 Canon and Nikkor 135s are excellent in LTM, not far behind the real TE, and under 100USD for excellent copies.

spydrxx Posted April 30, 2017 Share #24 Â Posted April 30, 2017 I found the Canon 135/3.5 chrome (LTM) to be slightly better than the Elmar, color wise and resolution, but it was a lot heavier. Both excellent lenses though.

Shot at F/4.  Note that this sample shot has no artistic value just to show the character of the lens.  This lens is really sharp. Welcome, dear visitor! ropo54 Posted July 5, 2017 Share #29  Posted July 5, 2017 I use mine on the SL601 and I am very happy with it. I paid $195 plus shipping for a nice copy from a member on this forum. My thought is that whether you pay $100 or $300 it is a bargain, as long as the copy you get is in nice condition for its age. Rob Welcome, dear visitor! ropo54 Posted July 5, 2017 Share #30  Posted July 5, 2017 Another shot. I agree with an earlier poster that I find I add just a tad of contrast in post processing. Welcome, dear visitor! Simon Posted July 5, 2017 Share #32 Â Posted July 5, 2017 (edited) Vintage Leica lens for $200? I'd no idea you could get some quality M glass for so little! Gotta learn more about discontinued Leica lenses...I certainly couldn't know less. Â Better value than buying a cheap Chinese noctilux. Better for the environment too! jmahto Posted July 5, 2017 Share #35  Posted July 5, 2017 As I said earlier in this thread that there is no bad 135 in terms of sharpness. Infinity is not a problem. You stop down a little (5.6) and they are all sharp across the frame. CA (if any) can be easily dealt in PP. But they all do differ in close focusing distance and rendering for close up objects wide open. I keep going back to my cheap (and light at 1lb) 135 Hexanon f/3.2,  even if for infinity shots, my 135 tele-elmar is so much superior in every aspect. This is the only focal length where I have multiple lenses for different use.  This was shot couple of days ago using 135 Hexanon at wide open f/3.2 on M240. Welcome, dear visitor! Simon Posted July 6, 2017 Share #36 Â Posted July 6, 2017 It's well worth it. Just take note that it's a 135mm lens. Thanks Stephen. My brother has the current Apo-Telyt-M 135, but it's good to know there are paths to shooting M for less than I was otherwise aware.

jmahto Posted July 6, 2017 Share #38  Posted July 6, 2017 Taken using 135 Tele-Elmar some time ago. jmahto Posted July 6, 2017 Share #40  Posted July 6, 2017 Are there issues at infinity for this lens? There could be issues where it doesn't reach infinity focus at infinity lock wide open. This is easily checked using LV. My lens had no issue on M9 but has issue on M240. This is lens specific though and not a general issue (and easily fixed by Leica, DAG or someone else).
