Actually I was looking for a manual too....and found this thread.

what is the dial for on the right side of the visioflex 020 for and what do you want it adjusted to?

TIA,

cayenne

There is no manual that I am aware of. The little dial is to adjust the diopter.

I came here for the same reason, looking for the manual that wasn't in the box - just bought a used one from KEH.  Works fine, and reading this thread seems to have answered my questions.  I'll read up on the camera documentation later.

I like everything about it except that I have to remove my Leica Thumbrest in order to attach the Visoflex.  I like the view, like how large it appears, and like all the data.  Once I figure it out, and decide what it's used for, it may go back in the box for times I don't need it.  It's much nicer than what I expected, but I don't know how I can justify the cost.

If I remember correctly, there are instructions about visoflex in the M10 camera user manual pdf.  I searched for visoflex in it at a time, and it did show a few instructions about it.  However I cant remember whether it said something about diopter dial.

Thanks for all the advice.  Everything so far has been sort of obvious.  I've been indoors all day, and the camera times out before the gps can lock onto my location.  If tomorrow is decent weather, I'll get a chance to use it outside.  I imagine once it locks on, it will be much faster in the future.

It does have a very nice display.  I guess when I use it will depend on what I'm doing with the camera.

I like the big, sturdy, Leica thumb rest, but I can't use both at the same time.

I have two Voigtlander lenses for very wide angle - I think the Visoflex will be very useful with them.  From what I've read, it is also very helpful for long focal length lenses.

As far as I know, I need to order it from England. If B&H had it, I would probably already have one.

Not sure though - Leica's version is huge, strong, and comfortable.  I like it more than any thumb rest I have for other cameras.  If the Visoflex comes off, the Thumb Rest goes back on.

It’s a member here who sells it. It’s safe from eBay.

Well, that's good to know.  I rarely, as in almost never, buy from ebay.  Based on what you just wrote, that's no problem, as long as he takes credit cards.  I don't have an ebay account.  Thanks for the update!

I sent you  PM

I am just one more visitor to this thread, who just got the Visoflex 020 (for an M10-P) and wish there was some documentation somewhere. Obviously, the functionality is mostly straightforward, and the manual of the M10 explains that some, but still there is one thing I wish I could read somewhere: the <Set> button of the M10 seems to alternate between various focus peaking modes, but I do not quite identify what are the modes, the features of each mode, and the exact cycling sequence. Although I inferred at first that the <Set> button just cycles across the mode, but at some point, I could not switch to the mode where a change in focus turns focus peaking to activate (this is neat!). It sounds a bit a like a random and trial for me at this point... Anyway, it is back now, but any document clarifying the exact sequence would be welcome.

That setting is in the M10 menus.

Thanks.
I found the "Capture assistants" sub-menu that sets a number of live view related parameters, but missed one for the action of the <Set> button when using the Visoflex. I just checked all menus, with the Visoflex attached (as I understand that the camera may show otherwise hidden menu entries). Which setting is it ?

I know this is a very old thread.

There actually exists a printed manual for the Visoflex 020, although I had totally forgotten about it. But today I happened to find it among my Leica manuals and other papers. The small manual has about 10 pages per language. It does not contain anything worth mentioning, except maybe that the Viso should be mounted an unmounted only when the camera is turned off.

As mentioned, all relevant information on how to use it can be found in the M10 manual.

When I mount my Visoflex, my M10 almost becomes a totally different camera.

My "grip" iis different, because of the removal of my thumb rest.

My batteries lose power far more rapidly.

Viewing, and focusing, are closer to what I'm used to on a DSLR.

I miss the real "live view", just like I miss it on most mirrorless cameras.

Sometimes, I even get my GPS co-ordinates recorded.

It's a tool, and I sometimes find it very useful.  I'm glad I bought it, and I wouldn't sell it, but it totally transforms how I use my M10.
