No, it was in the wild.

I will always follow the wildlife photography rule of disclosing when a shot is of a captive animal.

This snake was not too large for a Python, about 3.5 meters. They are not aggressive, nor poisonous, although they can give a nasty bite when provoked.

The AF on the GX8 is pretty good (and fast). I tend to use AFS with the central AF point at minimum size and AF lock by half-press and recompose. AE lock is a button under my thumb. Only in very low light the camera tends to hunt with long lenses, so in that case  I will use manual focus  with centre magnification. Due to excellent stabilization  one can use a 800 mm equ. lens down to 1/60th, ISO 3200 is still usable, so low light shots are no exception.

Thanks. Can it also be configured with thumb press focus (by removing AF lock from half shutter)? I used to like thumb press AF configuration on my Canon. After you have locked the focus you can relax the shutter finger, recompose and press at the right moment and not worrying about accidental re-focusing.

I could read GX8 manual but I thought I will quickly ask.

Not sure, but it can be configured many ways. For instance you can move the focus point with your left thumb on the focus screen. I do think the fn button under your right thumb can be programmed to AF hold.

I should have done simple google search (much better than RTFM). :)
