I would love to attach the R 280mm f4 APO (with the 1.4x APO-R converter) onto the S. There is an adapter for this made in few copies only - Lei-Ko Leica R to S adapter - pass me a word in case someone has a 'sleeping' adapter...

I spoke with him about it as late in January :). I still haven't ordered one, but I'm also considering it for my Apo-Macro elmarit 100.

Playing... S006 + APO-telyt-R 280mm f4 + 1.4 APO-extender-R (ISO100, f5.6, 1/60 sec, using the above-mentioned adapter). With the 1.4-extender, the 280-lens focuses to infinity. Without the extender, the lens focuses to about 30 m, I guess.

Glad you got one from Michael. The OVF on the S is perfect for using MF. I have thought about getting my 280/4 adjusted at Wetzlar, but it would take too long probably. Anyway with the 1.4x APO, it's still very useable, even if the max aperture is more limited.

Thanks - yes, the OVF on the S is very, very good, even for the 280mm+1.4 extender combo. On the SL, I typically use the focus assist (magnification) - and this ensures perfect focus (almost) always. The hit rate for MF on the S is likely not that good/high, but for an OVF it is outstandingly high.
