The 7th of Juli is also ok with me. Ravi, Paul, any objections?

I doubt I will make the 7th as we usually take the family vacation in the first week of July (we leave on Wednesday). But do not worry about me, maybe something comes up and we take the family vacation another time.

Tahlay looked happy enough to me, with her M6 ...

Ahem!

You mean you are not the typical Dad, and it did not miraculously morph into HER M6? :p

Christoph - there was Cecilia and I thinking you didnt get our subtle hints to donate the M3 to her!

If it is any consolation to you two, I got Nina a Steif Reporter Bear plus the Minox M3 when she was one year old ... and a Canon waterproof-shockproof camera when she was 4.

Ravi, I did not hear anything remotely subtle or sounding like a hint whatsoever. Rather the words "blunt" and "direct" come to mind.

But rest asured, I am fully aware you never really own a Leica anyway, you just look after it for the next generation.

I am still looking after ... :)

@ Christoph - It is a lovely camera and I know what you mean; I will not give my M3 to Nina before I go ... even going blind would not be enough to make me give it to her any sooner. Not that she has any wish to take photos. Maybe I will bring it to Rome.

Many thanks to Paul for his impeccable organisation and to you all for sharing the day and the dinner, making me enjoy such pleasant company in the marvelous historic town of Hertogenbosch.

Best,

(the other) Simon

If you're not willing to pass on your M3 yet, one of the others would suffice too..   Say.. the M5 or 4-P? You could pass it of as a graduation present or something alike.

Thanks Ravi for your support!!

@ all:  :p Its nice to see all the lovely pictures you all made.

The rain saturday was fatal to my MM  :(

It felt out of fucus and developed a strange corrosive mass attack of so called polaroid pocks.

I had to send it in today for quarantaine for 12 weeks.

But you need a lens too! What about a little crowd funding, say:  "everybody who has more than two rangefinder leicas on the forum donates you € 5,- There was someone on this forum a guy, who also gave away his film cameras to young people, maybe Jaap knows his name?

There's nothing wrong with the camera. This is the most flattering photo anyone has ever taken of me.
