Abram Posted April 10, 2017 Share #1 Posted April 10, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) So my M240's leatherette covering is peeling away and starting to look pretty ratty. It's just cosmetic and I don't really care THAT much but if I wanted to have it replaced would it be best to just do it myself? Doesn't seem like it would be that difficult but I've never tried so I don't know for sure. Any suggestions?

ECohen Posted April 11, 2017 Share #2 Posted April 11, 2017 I'm sure you could do it yourself....but this may be a great time to step outside the box.And let Leica do a la carte color https://a-la-carte-configurator.leica-camera.com/?lang=en&DEF=definitions_US
Abram Posted April 11, 2017 Author Share #3 Posted April 11, 2017 Haha a fair suggestion but I wouldn't want anything other than black. I could just look into an Aki-Asahi option or maybe I can get someone to make me something interesting.

JeTexas Posted April 20, 2017 Share #8 Posted April 20, 2017 I replaced leatherette on a beat to death Rolleicord once. If you don't get all the old residue off and completely clean the metal, it looks bad and lumpy when you put the new stuff on.
Abram Posted April 21, 2017 Author Share #9 Posted April 21, 2017 I had ordered some new leatherette from Aki-Asahi and it arrived a few days ago, had no trouble removing the old stuff and applying the new one, looks great and provides better grip too!
