Â Â I guess because it is a classic and is 1/3 the price of the ASPH Summicron. Presumably Leica felt unable to engineer an ASPH version that was both "better" than the 11826 lens and cheaper than the Summilux and as such have kept the non-ASPH lens in the catalogue for those who want a 50 at a more traditional Summicron price.
