david strachan Posted February 18, 2017 Share #21 Posted February 18, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Shame there's no horizontal/vertical level in the FW - must have just been a nasty rumour. Yep...I only quoted it as, specifically, a rumour. Bad luck, perhaps another time; I can understand your frustrations. Jono was right. all best.. Advertisement Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 Hi david strachan, Take a look here Leica M10 Firmware 1.3.4.0 available for download. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ashwinrao1 Posted February 20, 2017 Share #22 Posted February 20, 2017 The firmware is somewhat buggy, from what I can tell. See image rotation thread, that crops up on occasion for those using 1.3.4 https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2675/32850734602_f981060805_b.jpg
LeicaFFM Posted February 20, 2017 Share #23 Posted February 20, 2017 Shame there's no horizontal/vertical level in the FW - must have just been a nasty rumour. The rumour also mentioned, that the level will not be included in this firmware update. So I wouldn't call it nasty...
Steve Ricoh Posted February 21, 2017 Share #24 Posted February 21, 2017 That must go down as the quickest firmware update following a new product release. What was it, 4 or so weeks ago when the cam. was released to the public. Amazing for the consumer to be part of the development team.
steve70 Posted February 21, 2017 Share #25 Posted February 21, 2017 Great! New firm upgrade, but still do not have my M10 yet! Did not know they were even shipping in the US. Heard that the Chinese were getting them first.

What was it, 4 or so weeks ago when the cam. was released to the public. Amazing for the consumer to be part of the development team. The firmware was already announced in the information kit provided to the dealers at on sale day for an end of Jan 17 release . So at that time they were already working on it. In software development terms this seems logical.
Steve Ricoh Posted February 21, 2017 Share #27 Posted February 21, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) The firmware was already announced in the information kit provided to the dealers at on sale day for an end of Jan 17 release . So at that time they were already working on it. In software development terms this seems logical. I understand SW design get things wrong, but the marketing team would be disappointed given the update wasn't embodied before release. It's like a shot in the foot, almost saying we (Leica) can't get product development right first time. However it seems in this digital age the consumer is so accustomed to s/w (or is firmware, as used to set up an FPGA?) modifications, it's almost like water off a duck's back. Either way, it doesn't instil confidence.
Surelythisnameisfree Posted February 21, 2017 Share #28 Posted February 21, 2017 I don't see a problem with it. To me it signals that they still work to improve cameras after shipping which is a good thing. If you ever had a Sony rx1 which despite costing 3k never got a single update from Sony you'd welcome firmware fixes rather than see them as admission of flaws. digitalfx Posted February 22, 2017 Share #29 Posted February 22, 2017 Great! New firm upgrade, but still do not have my M10 yet! Did not know they were even shipping in the US. Heard that the Chinese were getting them first. You heard wrong. They shipped worldwide on the same day as the announcement. Dealers in the US have been delivering them for over a month now.
