Thank you!

Actually that's on the windows - not sure if it was just for the looks or indeed to reduce the light that's coming in, but it's the look of the building.

I made some color adjustments in LR to make them pop a bit more (DNG of the Q is relatively flat) - no photoshop though.

Amazing. It reminds me of the grain that some film makers add artificially to some modern films (like 300) in order to achieve that dramatic effect.

That's it, simples, just post your best three photographs, in your opinion,  that you have taken with your Leica Q

Open to comments from other members of course ... but not additional photographs.

Thanks MickyW. Typical Orkney sky on the first - off up there for a few days tomorrow! I have also photographed the old fishing boats on Mull but well before my week old Q! I like your take. Less sure about the third. I think a tighter crop would help and a bit more definition on the drooping grass. But hey, can't that lens and sensor handle a crop. It would also be nice to see some exposure details - aperture, ISO, speed.

Many thanks indeed. All three straight out of camera, and used Silver Efex to edit afterwards on the first two.

Last one ISO 100, F13, 1/125s early morning mist in the local park.

I had actually done a crop of another photo taken at the same time, from a slightly different angle, and yes, it might have made a better photograph ... cheers.

It reminds me of an Andrew Wyeth painting. That photo is one of the nicest pieces of art I've seen on the forum. Even the subtle sky with clouds and diagonal sun rays adds to the mood. I would print it large and have it in my study or office.

What a fabulous photograph...!

There is an early David Hockney feel about it too, in terms of composition.

I genuinely like everything about this... (technically good too...not that it matters).

Love your new avatar Bill  :D

Thank you for your kind words. One of those moments - click the shutter - perfect picture. I spotted it coming and waited until my wife looked up and out the window. She turned and looked at me confused afterwards. Úna, she kept eating ;)

Already planning to print it out have a test copy going away to see if I need to make any adjustments.

Other than making the vertical lines vertical, I wouldn't do much. It's darn near perfect OOC. As Una grows up, she'll cherish it. Especially if someday she has her own baby. Truly priceless.

Infiniumguy of Colorado Springs fame is very right.  It's an amazing picture.  Your family and you will cherish it of course but I think itit can be appreciated by almost anyone.
