How to upload images: Prepare the image as follows: 1.   The image should be sRGB and 8-bits 2.   Reduce the size to 2480 pixels on the longest side. (smaller sizes can be set, but are not recommended) 3.   Sharpen properly for screen. 4.   Save as JPG to your desktop, reducing JPG quality to produce 2000 kB (5000 kB for sponsoring members). 5.   In Lightroom these parameters should be set in the Export dialog. 6.   In the Forum posting or editing box, click “choose Fil

I made this pic just after I walked out of the amazing Heritage building in St Petersburg and saw a group of monks walking.  I asked if I could make a picture of them. I knew the saffron colours they were wearing would contrast well with the building and the sky.  Snapped off 2 shots with my Q and when I got home and loaded this on my PC I was very pleased.  The colours of the building, sky and of course the saffron robes. Also the individual personalities of the monks are on show.

This image successfully uses contrast to highlight its subjects. The individual personalities of the monks are clearly visible, which makes the staged pose appear natural and authentic. This is a very well-executed photograph.
