Lovely sunny day today - but I'm stuck in the house waiting a man from Bosch to come and fix the dishwasher (again).

I was in St Louis yesterday and a couple of days before.  These flowering trees are beautiful.  There's a lovely large one near the Olin library at Washington University with branches that come all the way to the ground!

Very nice - how do you get that wonderful grain?

I am used the Nike Collection:

The first step:

crop the original image in LR and open in PS CC ACR converter (keep settings from LR) -> interpolation to 36MP like A7R open the picture

second step:

edit the image with Nik Anlalog efex pro 2 and save

last step:

edit the image in Silver efex pro 4 and save -> reduce the image to 1800px for flickr

My first day out with the new Q was this past Thursday.  After early morning overcast it started to clear so I wandered over to the Marin Headlands for some nice pics.  Obviously, bright early afternoon sun is a little boring, but it's still a classic view.  The Q did a fine job.  This was at f/8 (with a little "minus" exposure compensation), 1/500s, ISO 100 and manually focused.  The dang vertical cables had just the wrong spacing to create hellish moire effects that I have somewhat tamed in Lightroom.  White balance was set to "daylight" and then slightly warmed in Lightroom as it was just a touch too blue.  Love the 28mm Summilux and the sensor.  It's a great "walk about" camera which is exactly what I was hoping for.  Supplements the SL really well.  Much more fun to shoot than my X2 even if it doesn't quite fit in a jacket pocket.

Beautiful pictures and gallery!  Are the Wash U pictures from this year?  I seem to have missed the peak or maybe I'm just not as good a photographer!

Not in St Louis any more.  I was a student there many many years ago.  My, the city has changed, mostly for the better.
