SL saving to card two not card one??

Try switching off; remove card 2; switch on with just card 1 in place; take a test shot; switch off; and then on again; add card 2. It should then continue writing to card 1

yes that is what I did...it should have a feature for us to select which card to save the images or both cards like what the Pro DSLR has...so now i just insert 1 card at a time.

I got rather scared the other day when I wanted to download the pix from Card 1, and there was nothing there. They were on 2, though 1 wasn't full or locked. Happened a few days later.

Tried the above method; turned off, removed 2, took a pic, turned off, reinserted 2 and it now works as I expected.

Strange behaviour.

It has happened to me, too. And I did exactly what several others have done.  It is an extension of the fix we have all learned -- when a Leica locks up, you take the battery out, reinsert, and continue.  Probably there is a weak spot in the part of the firmware that addresses storage.  All that is specified is that the camera will switch to storing on chip #2 when #1 is full.  Presumably if #1 is not inserted all the way, or not seated properly, it will also switch.  So what happens when you discover this, remove #1, reseat it properly, and continue.  Apparently, it continues to store to #2, since it has already switched.  I would prefer to see the SL store to chip #1 anytime that it can do so.  So there may be a firmware fix for this type of glitch.
