Bill W Posted February 2, 2017 Share #2 Posted February 2, 2017 Just curious but is card 1 locked or full or maybe corrupted and it went to 2 for that reason.
rafikiphoto Posted February 2, 2017 Share #3 Posted February 2, 2017 Try switching off; remove card 2; switch on with just card 1 in place; take a test shot; switch off; and then on again; add card 2. It should then continue writing to card
turbonetics Posted February 2, 2017 Share #4 Posted February 2, 2017 Try switching off; remove card 2; switch on with just card 1 in place; take a test shot; switch off; and then on again; add card 2. It should then continue writing to card 1 yes that is what I did...it should have a feature for us to select which card to save the images or both cards like what the Pro DSLR has...so now i just insert 1 card at a time. geetee1972 Posted February 4, 2017 Share #6 Posted February 4, 2017 Funnily enough mine started doing the exact same thing two days ago. I did the same as suggested here and it solved the problem but it's a strange coincidence.
MT0227 Posted February 6, 2017 Share #7 Posted February 6, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I had that happen too, it was because I inadvertently locked the card prior to inserting it into the camera
rc53 Posted February 12, 2017 Share #8 Posted February 12, 2017 I got rather scared the other day when I wanted to download the pix from Card 1, and there was nothing there. They were on 2, though 1 wasn't full or locked. Happened a few days later. Tried the above method; turned off, removed 2, took a pic, turned off, reinserted 2 and it now works as I expected. Strange behaviour.
scott kirkpatrick Posted February 12, 2017 Share #9 Posted February 12, 2017 It has happened to me, too. And I did exactly what several others have done. It is an extension of the fix we have all learned -- when a Leica locks up, you take the battery out, reinsert, and continue. Probably there is a weak spot in the part of the firmware that addresses storage. All that is specified is that the camera will switch to storing on chip #2 when #1 is full. Presumably if #1 is not inserted all the way, or not seated properly, it will also switch. So what happens when you discover this, remove #1, reseat it properly, and continue. Apparently, it continues to store to #2, since it has already switched. I would prefer to see the SL store to chip #1 anytime that it can do so. So there may be a firmware fix for this type of glitch. scott
