digitalfx Posted January 26, 2017 Share #1 Posted January 26, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Why did Leica change the functionality of this option? On the previous M's, when this option was selected the image was displayed as long as you held the shutter release. As soon as you released the shutter the image turned off and the camera was ready to shoot again. On the M10, this has changed. Now if you hold the shutter the image remains until you release the shutter and then you must touch the shutter yet again to release the image. IMO this completely defeats the purpose of this option...its how longer a "Hold" function but a permanent review. Why? Hopefully this is just a bug and will be fixed. The previous implementation was much better.

chris_tribble Posted January 26, 2017 Share #2 Posted January 26, 2017 Agree - this ought to be fixable in firmware. Add it to the list?
Stealth3kpl Posted January 26, 2017 Share #3 Posted January 26, 2017 I use my m240 as a film camera or M-D. Can review be turned off? Pete
digitalfx Posted January 26, 2017 Author Share #4 Posted January 26, 2017 yes off is still an option. For me "HOLD" was the best of both worlds. Its in essence off...but with the option to turn it on briefly by "holding" the shutter release. The beauty of this feature is that the review image was only displayed as long as you held the shutter down. In use it was the perfect way to review the image only when needed and only briefly or as long as you wanted and then immediately go back to shooting. The M10's version adds an unnecessary step to turn it off.
Rick Posted January 27, 2017 Share #5 Posted January 27, 2017 +1 for hold. Agree. I contacted Leica FW and I'll see if I get a response. Rick
