My father got me into photography and had done all of his purchases in the last 25 years through the same shop. Including his M6 and M7 and assorted Leica gear. He has been in the last stages of Alzheimer's and in recent days he's gone downhill fast. We visit daily, but we got the call this morning that today would likely be the day. I got up to visit him and brought his cameras and got to thinking too bad he won't see the 10.. and my phone rang. The dealer, being about 2miles away, called to alert me of it's arrival. I decided that was a sign.. left and got back and dad's got the M10 in his hands. While the battery is charging you can play with it just about as much as a film body, haha... Sorry to hear of your father's waning health. My father passed away about a year ago from Alzheimers. It is kind of amazing the little things that will catch someone with Alzheimer's attention. Just two weeks before my father went, he was saying that we "need to buy another horse or two" (he was an owner/breeder of thoroughbreds with several Breeder's Cup wins). I don't really know how to do that. Not overly concerned. My camera will come someday. Obsessed with checking daily but an M10, while a great camera that I'm excited to get, I still enjoy photography very day while I wait. For those who use the M and rangefinder it may be boring/nothing new but for those (like me) who are new to this, it may be helpful. I am taking my class this Saturday. After passing on a black one earlier this week I just got an email from my other dealer that my silver M10 is on its way. I placed the order on March 9th, so roughly a 3 week wait.
